B. Dalton Bookseller
Barnes & Noble closed the last B. Dalton mall stores in 2010.
B. Dalton Bookseller was launched by the Dayton department-store family and became a leading mall bookstore chain, helping bring bestseller racks and mass-market paperbacks to suburban shoppers. Barnes & Noble bought B. Dalton in 1986 and ran it as its mall division even as it built the bookstore superstores that made small mall shops obsolete. Barnes & Noble closed the last B. Dalton stores at the end of 2010.
